Cordillera de Fuego — official stream Jayro Bustamante's newest film

Jayro Bustamante's fifth feature film, which had its world premiere in the Latin American competition of the 2025 Mar del Plata International Film Festival and its Guatemalan national premiere in May 2026.

Synopsis

A new volcano is forming in Guatemala's Cordillera de Fuego, a phenomenon as awe-inspiring as it is terrifying, seen in opposite ways by different parts of society: for some, a business opportunity; for others, the imminent threat of losing their homes and way of life. At the center of the storm is Paula, a determined volcanologist facing down corruption in her country with a single goal — evacuating at-risk communities to safety.
