Born in Guatemala City, Diane Bathen began her modelling career at the age of 16. She has worked with great photographers and fashion designers such as Chanel, and with international fashion magazines such as Vogue Italy and Vogue Latinoamérica. She has a solid reputation as a fashion icon in Guatemala.
Her first experience in cinema was acting in Jayro Bustamante’s film Temblores. She went through an intensive preparation in Stanislavski method acting under Jayro Bustamante’s instruction, and in Theater of the Oppressed under the instruction of Luis Carlos Pineda.
Parallel to her modelling and acting career, she has worked in cultural and project management for foundations and NGOs in aid programs for populations in Guatemala and Central America. At present she is supporting the Fundación Ixcanul project for Itinerant Cinema, organizing festivals of socially relevant cinema and discussion forums in many regions in Guatemala, working hand in hand with local collectives.
Her many-faceted career has taken her to be part of advertising, modelling and photography projects with both national and international foundations. At present she is proudly awaiting the premiere of the next Jayro Bustamante feature film, in which she filled the position of Wardrobe Supervisor.
